THAT’S ALL YOU DO
Momma said nothing comes easy
Daddy said, boy, life is hard
To this day I still remember
Standing in that old graveyard
And I’ve come to my own conclusions
When it seems too much for me
Sunday’s church and mom’s fried chicken
It was all for family
And the message goes:
Be the first to cast a stone
Or turn away and just go home
But maybe you should be there
By his side
Don’t knock him down
Lift him up
Show you’re filled
A world of love
A witness to the One who died for you
That’s all you do
Looking round at all this sorrow
Fills the TV everyday
Always looking for tomorrow
Rushing through another day
What has happened to our brothers
Same thing with our sisters too
Why can’t we love one another
Like the Good Book tells us too
And the message goes:
Be the first to cast a stone
Or turn away and just go home
But maybe you should be there
By his side
Don’t knock him down
Lift him up
Show you’re filled
A world of love
A witness to the One who died for you
That’s all you do
Time it passes by so quickly
Turn around you’re 92
What are things that you remember
Always there for me….I believed in you
And the message goes:
Be the first to cast a stone
Or turn away and just go home
But maybe you should be there
By my side
Don’t knock me down
Lift me up
Show you’re filled
A world of love
A witness to the One who died for you
That’s all you do
That’s all you do
That’s all you do-ooooo-ooooo-ooooo
God blesses you
