EARLY MORNING HAZE

Who will save me from the windows

That tantalize my mind?

Or take the cool refreshing wind away

No, that would be unkind.

Seasons come and season go

As our gardens go to seed.

Where will I find latitude

When there is none left for me?

City, Man, Person, Solo, Window, Alone

Pull the drapes

Pull the curtains

Pull the cords

Close the doors

Let the sun go down

As lights go on

Chase shadows on the floor

Give me eyes

That maybe, I can see

Remembering yesterday

Then open all the windows

To the early morning haze.

…….

A cock crows in the distance

As another day begins.

A baby cries in her existence

One breath out another in.

And papas on the tractor

Headed to the fields to plow.

While I’m lost in this reverie

A young mind on the prowl…

Horse, Pegasus, Archway, Fantasy

Pull the drapes

Pull the curtains

Pull the cords

Close the doors

Let the sun go down

As lights go on

Chase shadows on the floor

Give me eyes

That maybe, I can see

Remembering yesterday

Then open all the windows

To the early morning haze.

Tea Plantation, Landscape, Vietnam, Haze

Spiraling out of control

Whiplashed – beaten down.

Never, will I trust again.

Damn this streetlight town.

Monuments to fools, they build

Hate, it fills the air.

Where’s the hope that once was found

Surrounded by despair.

Pull the drapes

Pull the curtains

Pull the cords

Close the doors

Let the sun go down

As lights go on

Chase shadows on the floor

Give me eyes

That maybe, I can see

Remembering yesterday

Then open all the windows

To the early morning haze.
