WHY ARE YOU CRYING?
He thought he didn’t matter,
And had no place in this world.
Just a little boy, alone.
His tear-filled eyes all blurred.
She was playing fetch with her doggie,
When the ball rolled by his side.
They had no way of knowing
That their two worlds would collide…
Why are you crying?
Are you okay?
Why are you sitting here all alone?
It’s such a pretty day!
Would you like to be my friend,
And do you want to hold my hand?
Why are you crying?
I don’t understand!
High school was a blur,
And so was college too!
Two lives that collided
Saw a world with skies of blue.
Marriage and careers were had
But missing in their life
The baby that she longed to have
It cut just like a knife.
Why are you crying?
Are you okay?
Why are you sitting here all alone?
It’s such a pretty day?
Would you like to take a walk with me?
And do you want to hold my hand?
Why are you crying?
I want to understand!
He sat there with his head held low
Tears running down his face.
Nothing had prepared him to
Be sitting in this place.
And looking up he saw a nurse
And the baby with blue eyes.
With teardrops of her own
She said, “She may be gone…
But she left you this little life.”
I know you’re crying?
And you’re not okay?
I see you sitting here alone,
I wish I had the words to say.
Would you like to hold your baby now?
And do you want to meet your son?
Why are you crying?
Because his life has just begun…
He thought he didn’t matter,
And had no place in this world…
