Island Blues… a silly, fun song

ISLAND BLUES

I woke up this morning

Face down in the sand

Don’t remember a thing

And I can’t feel my hand

 

As my eyes came in focus

Much to my surprise

Was a crab staring back

With two stalking eyes

 

Well I couldn’t move

And my head was in pain

With a crab staring at me

Then he called me by name….

 

He said:

Hey Bubba this must be your first time

To come to the islands and wake up half blind

Yeah, I been watching you since the sun did rise

And by the green look of you and your bloodshot eyes

You must have had one hell of a night

Too much rum….am I guessing you right?

I’m sure your buddies are around here too

Because your lack of clothes is a give-away dude

 

Now maybe I’m dreaming

But I can hardly see

And there sits a crab

Just a talking to me

And I remember just a little

Last night at the bar

Tequila, and rum and some bomb with a car

 

But I cannot for the life of me

Hey wait a minute I can’t feel my feet

Is that a tingle down around my toes

And what the hell just crawled up my nose

 

And then I heard again:

Too much rum….am I guessing you right?

Now my ears are ringing

And I’m feeling kind of sick

I got sand in my teeth

And my tongue is real thick

 

And I guess I might be

Going crazy too

Cause my crab friend just turned a shade blue

I’ve never been hung over quite this bad

Maybe a beer will help me just a tad

Is there feeling coming back to me

Or is that cold water coming from the sea

 

Then to my ear…
