Homecoming…

BRAVE SOLDIER

Into the reach

March the brave soldier

Dust and sand hath wreaked havoc in thee

Deep in the heart

And need to be bolder

March, march, march

Free is not free

Heavy the heart

Within the brave soldier

Remembering loved ones who marched before he

Darkening soul

Colder and colder

How much longer the march

Vigilance be

Trenches and trails

Onward brave soldier

Cantering low lead winged above

Lest you go home

Once more to hold her

Towering mountains

Compare not to thy love

Cast forth and fortified

Again a brave soldier

Life comes and goes in battle ‘round thee

Steadfast and true

Until there is closure

Anguish and loss

From desert to sea

Heaven above

In prayer the brave soldier

Hell all around crimson in flow

Eye in the night

No sleep on this border

Alas he has won

Brave soldier go home
